The discriminator prevents the loading of a live round into the M240 feed tray via the ammunition belt when installed. This safety device assists in the proper function of the system, with the ease of mind that live rounds cannot be loaded via the belt. If a live round was linked into the belt of blank round, then the live round will break off prior to entering the feed tray. May also be used with a MK48. Red color.
